OUR PROGRAMS

 

Our facility has become a family based community hub for the surrounding community.  The Columbia Bethlehem Community Center strives to draw families together to promote positive community interaction.  Currently, we have four programs for children.

After-school Tutoring

We offer after-school tutoring to elementary students on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.  For Fall 2015, tutoring will be September 14 - December 16.  We assist children with their homework and focus on any area where they may need some one on one attention.

 

There is no fee for this program and a snack is provided.  If you would like to register your child or volunteer with this program please call 803-807-9582.

Summer Feeding Program

 

As a summer food service site, we ensure that children from low-income families continue to receive nutrious meals when school is not in session.  We are able to serve breakfast and lunch to children in the community all summer.  

 

Check back with us for dates for Summer 2016.  There is no fee for children under 18 years of age.

Youth Film Camp

 

Youth Film Camp is an innovative one week intensive camp where youth learn the art of film making. The camp includes mini-workshops and guided participation in the art of filmmaking and the science of digital video production.  Teaching is done by experienced filmmakers from the Midlands area.  Learning is hands-on and youth will develop their own short film during the week long class.  On the last day of camp, the youth will have a premiere for their short film inviting famiy and friends to attend.

Summer Camp
 

Summer camp is a six-week enrichment based camp for children entering 1st grade through 5th grade.  Half of the day is spent on enrichment and learning and the other half focuses on critical thinking and problem solving through playing games and arts/crafts.  The children in the summer camp will go on four field trips to local sites.

 

June 27 - August 5 from 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. (until 2 p.m. on Fridays).  The cost is $25 per child.  This includes all field trips, breakfast, lunch, snack and a T-shirt.

Community Bible Study

Join us every Thursday evening from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for a life-changing discussion.

Spring Break Literacy Camp
​​

Literacy Camp is a half day week long camp that will focus on camper's individual strengths, empowering them to improve their literacy skills.  We will use fun and engaging ways to help young readers discover the joy of reading.

 

This camp is for k-3rd graders who are reading below grade level and struggling to make the jump from oral to written language.

 

 Call to register your child today.  March 28 - April 1 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. No fee. Limited to the first 15 children.
